The rainbow rarity weapons and items, which leaked a few months beforehand, are perhaps one of the biggest additions included in this DLC. Once it is no longer free, Borderlands 2 players will have to pay $14.99 to get the content included in the Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC, such as the rainbow weapons. It will stop being free at 12 AM PT/3AM ET on July 8, 2019, meaning those who have yet to download it will only have until the end of this weekend to do so for free.
However, with this free period coming to an end, anyone who has been putting it off will want to get this DLC downloaded ASAP. It's a solid DLC for all fans of the franchise to pick up, but, with it being free, many may not have been in a rush.
The Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC was designed to bridge the 7-year gap in Borderlands content and give a little filler for the events between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3. Borderlands 2's latest DLC, Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary, allows players to take on a new raid boss, grind for new rainbow rarity weapons and items, check out new Easter eggs, and return to the world of Pandora for a new adventure prior to the release of Borderlands 3. What's more, this has all been available for free so far, but it appears that this new DLC will not be free for much longer.
